Frequently asked questions
Do you provide medical treatment?
IW does not provide medical treatment. Our nurses give students as much information as possible, driven by our medical experience, for the student to make a decision about their own medical treatment. We connect them to the appropriate licensed medical professionals in the country abroad.
Do you provide psychological counseling for students?
IW does not provide psychological counseling for students. We connect them to the appropriate licensed professionals in country if they decide to use their services. However, nurses are highly skilled communicators, know how to properly de-escalate situations and can be a comforting presence to students that are struggling away form home.
How will our school work with a nurse?
IW will create a 3 month contract between the University or Student and Nurses/IW. The number of nurses assigned per program will vary on size of program (at least 1 nurse will always be on call for 40-60 students). Nurses will remain on call for students throughout the semester if they have a medical issue and will be available in person. The program director or student can reach out to nurse via text or phone call 24/7 to use our resources and create a proper course of action.
